Indiana PAL

PAL at Camp Tecumseh

Project American Life is an exciting educational experience that deals with citizenship, history and character development.  From the moment students arrive at Camp Tecumseh they are swept up in the excitement and intrigue of the program.  They are immediately placed into castes, with some students born into Royalty and others... Untouchables!  Will students adhere to this system or is there a better standard under which they could live?  What could the Declaration of Independence have to offer?

All Project American Life activities are specially designed to stimulate the cognitive process, build character and a spirit of teamwork, as well as foster understanding of the noble principles upon which this nation was founded.

Alabama PAL

PAL at Camp Hargis

In operation since 1996, Project American Life is a four-day, three-night outdoor civics and character education field trip for middle schoolers.  Students from all over Alabama attend PAL at YMCA Hargis Retreat in Chelsea, Alabama.

We are especially proud of the recognition and financial support we receive from both the Shelby County Board of Education and the Shelby County Commission which allows us to provide scholarships to hundreds of students annually.

Project American Life is an outstanding educational opportunity and Shelby County is fortunate to have it located in our own back yard. It teaches the core values that made America great and inspires each participant – teacher and child to live the American Dream.
