"Self-evident" no more...
I remember reading about the efficiency of the trains that transported those unwanted and burdensome Jews for "relocation" purposes. The trains came and went... day by day... performing the necessary tasks... with few questions ever being asked... like, "Where are the trains taking all of those people?" The Allied Forces finally came and turned on the lights... and the millions of unspeakable horrors were revealed. Many German citizens expressed astonishment, "We had no idea these atrocities were taking place." Do you ever wonder how they missed the "self-evident?"
What is an acceptable way to end the life of an unborn human being, as there are lots of "techniques" available (some learned from the Nazis)? So, what are the best techniques; who would like to offer the list? Though the lens of reason has always provided access to the "self-evident truth," the invention of ultrasound technology provided absolute access to unmistakable images. And so, in addition to seeing animated little human beings, we also vividly see the coldness and emptiness of the human heart. Will we forever watch the trains pass us by? Where will such avoidance ultimately lead us?
The Jews coined a most apt response to such crimes against their humanity. In considering the staggering loss of 6 million innocent lives, they cried out in unity, "Never again!" What then should be the terminology when considering the 60 million innocent lives destroyed in America since 1973? Moreover, consider the heartache that remains hidden within countless millions... to this very moment. I remember a nation who posited its existence upon the idea that the Creator had endowed human beings certain "inalienable rights"... and among them was the gift of Life! What has become of this nation?
Though there is good reason for sadness, there is also most blessed news at hand: There is One who can put spilled wine back into the bottle... without losing a single drop. Just as flowers follow the rain... everlasting joy will follow repentance. Let this day be the day... the beginning of enduring healing... to each hurting heart. And, "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
