What if...

Wouldn't life be filled with magical wonderment if there actually was a Creator who loves each of us... who has made us to become like Him... who has fashioned our existence for purposes beyond our present grasp?  Well... here's some Good News:  There is!  And more, this Creator came to us as a child... thereby putting a real measure of trust in us... such that His Will would be done.  Yes, in a manger, we discover that the Creator of the universe comes to bridge the gap... to guide us to the Home we could not find... to heal the hurt we could not fix.  Today, our Creator still calls to us, "I am... you can be... there is a plan... you are not alone!  Rise my child... I am with you forever."  I pray such imagery gives warmth and hope to all who read these words...

"All men are created equal... are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights... among these are Life, Liberty..." Here, a core question demands an answer:  Is this proposition true? It is "self-evident" that The Declaration of Independence was the standard that helped abolish so many evils around the world, including slavery.  Today, as in the times of the Civil War, we are amidst a pivotal struggle whether we take the time to consider this reality or not.  As the answer to this question has ramifications upon everything else, we must decide this day whether our Founding Principles are actually true.

"We the people" must embrace, support, and build upon our founding proposition.  As a starting point, what does the "unalienable right to life" mean if it's not applicable to humanity itself... especially towards the innocent... the voiceless... the miraculous gift of the Creator? How can the "City on a Hill" even endure at all if its founding creed is so flagrantly dismissed?  For anyone unfamiliar with Dr. Bernard Nathanson, his book "The Hand of God" is an absolute must read, regardless of one's present viewpoint.  Dr. Nathanson was the founder of the "abortion industry" wherein he personally presided over 60,000 abortions, including his own child. Yes, he "skillfully" dismembered his own child. However, Dr. Nathanson's journey had a surprising twist.. due in part to the invention of a mere piece of equipment, an ultrasound machine. By honestly examining these never-before-seen images, his world began to change... including his mind, his heart, his soul. Dr. Nathanson is a vivid example of how Truth liberates, renews, and rebuilds... for one person... or even for a nation.

Lenin's assertion, "A lie told often enough becomes the truth" might be revealing as well.  Today, children are learning that the prerequisite foundation of Liberty ("their Creator") is somehow inappropriate... out-of-bounds... not suitable for these enlightened times.  So, how's it all working out so far?  Ask a few questions... look around... consider the news of the day.  So many things are horribly wrong... so many dreams lost... so many young lives lost!  Nevertheless, there is good news at hand; healing is near!  There remains a Balm in Gilead... if we would but open our eyes... our minds... our hearts... our souls.  As with ultrasound images, "self-evident truths" demand consideration... even verdicts.

Our Founding Declaration can still illumine our path.  The full promise of America's Creed is waiting for us... waiting to shine... waiting to bloom! How valuable is the life of just one child?    Imagine the hope... the promise... the realized dream... in embracing the greatest Gifts... Life and Liberty! And everything will change...
